Author's Note on "Fairytale Not: Lil' Miss Prim but not Proper's Storybook"
Fairytales, those fascinating little stories that enchant us during childhood, stay in my spirit and imagination 'til today.

In my heart, I feel that life is a fairytale--brimming with magic, love, drama, and power. It is the masterpiece of a bored and creative god.

But as Mark Twain put it, "Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities. Truth isn't."

Thus, the birth of "Fairytale Not." This is my reality as bookmarked in the web. Somehow a fairytale. But so much more than that.

Feb. 2nd, 2009 @ 11:28 am On to another chapter...

I started with Blogspot... Just spitting thoughts from the mind of a Girl, Interrupted...

Then moved on to LJ opening "Fairytale Not".

Saw Multiply as a gift from God with the easy photo uploads.

And now finally succumbed to social (and business, mind you!) pressure and got myself a Facebook.

This technology thing is craaaazzzyyy... ;P

Dec. 10th, 2008 @ 07:23 am DANCING TO THE MUSIC OF TIME...

I've come across a very interesting concept in a book of short stories / essays that is my current bedside staple.

We are all familiar with choreography - a series of organized, successive steps performed by the body, set in timing with music.

But it is quite interesting to see how life is a dance.

All our rituals and banalities, our responses, our smiles, our tears, the speed in which we talk, the activity of daily life... It is all part of the dance.

Everything has a rhythm.

And we all dance to the music of time.

Whether yours is fast or slow, smooth and natural or just a little bit awkward, inside a small room or out in a grand stage: revel in the dance that is your life!

Move freely from one step to the next. Sway to the beat of your own music. Tap your feet. Don't be afraid to take a dip. Own those moments with your "partner" and be one. Bask in the glory in the numbers where you are the lead with a whole group of "back-ups" following your shining star. And continue, even while you are alone when no one is watching.

Everything is rhythm.

Everything is beauty, love, and bliss.

Mar. 7th, 2008 @ 08:02 pm Earth Hour: Join in making a statement about global warming!
Currently in the kingdom of:: at work (yeah, on a Saturday!)
Current Mood a.k.a. Color of today's winds: thinking about the EARTH
On the Disney Radio: "Heal the World"

On 29 March 2008 the Philippines will join countries around the world as we literally "turn the lights out" for Earth Hour - an event that will fuel awareness on climate change and prove that when the people of the world work together, they can make a difference in the fight against global warming.

Earth Hour will take place throughout the Philippines from 8 to 9 in the evening on Saturday night, 29 March 2008. WWF invites you to participate by shutting off lights for 60 minutes, organizing your own "lights-out" event or by forwarding this to your friends, workmates and family.

--------------------------------

Launched in Australia on the 31st of March 2007, Earth Hour moved 2.2 million people and 2100 businesses in Sydney to turn off their lights for one hour. This massive collective effort reduced the city's energy consumption by 10.2% for one hour. With Sydney icons like the Harbour Bridge and Opera House turning their lights off and unique events such as weddings by candlelight, the world took notice. Inspired by the collective effort of millions of Sydneysiders, many major global cities are joining Earth Hour in 2008, turning a symbolic event into a global movement.

YOUR participation will go a long way in spreading the message that we, as individual droplets working collectively - can create an impetus far more powerful than the mightiest of rivers. For more information, log on to the WWF Earth Hour page at www.earthhour.org

Jan. 11th, 2008 @ 06:52 pm WHAT'S YOUR DEMON?

In "The Golden Compass," people have their very own demons.

A demon is an animal that is linked to its owner. More than the usual pet, it can talk and feel--acting as a real friend. And it even reflects the qualities of its owner. It is portrayed like the "soul" of the person in that parallel universe.

Nicole Kidman's sleek and coy character Marisa Coulter has a cat. Lord Asriel (as played by Daniel Craig), the alpha male courageous "uncle" takes care of a tiger alter ego. One of the greedy financiers walks around with a snake draped over his shoulders. The demon of lead little girl Lyra Belacqua, played by the adorable Dakota Blue Richards, was still changing forms as its master was still grappling to establish her identity.

I guess it would be cool to have your own demon!

And if I can have one... here are my preferences:

PEACOCK: unconventional, colorful, striking, definitely fashionable. hehe..

Its feathers are like artwork. The peacock stands tall in beauty and grace.

DUCK / SWAN: paddling hard underneath but remains composed, strong, and serene on the surface

LION: Oh yeah, the King of the Jungle! * roar*

Strong, regal, noble, a good leader, passionate...

But don't you get him mad!

How about you guys? What's your demon?

-------------------------------------------------

P.S. At least the fascinating aspect of demons attached to humans gave me a bit of a reason not to regret the money I spent to catch this film.

Super bitin!!! Parang ewan talaga!!!  It was set-up for a trilogy, but unfortunately the makers forgot to make the original movie worth watching.
